Why Can’t We All Be Employed by Employers Like Hammer Packag
Rochester, NY, is distinguished for many things connected to the printing industry. Hammer Packaging is keeping that tradition alive in an exceptionally employee-friendly way. By Patrick Henry Published: May 14, 2015 Congratulations to Hammer Packaging of Rochester, NY, upon being named a Top Workplace in its region. The distinction was bestowed by Workplace Dynamics LLP, a company that surveys employees to measure engagement, organizational health, and satisfaction. Top Workplaces earn the recognition solely on the basis of employee feedback as gathered by Workplace Dynamics, which partners with local publishing organizations to publicize its findings. Rochester’s Democrat and Chronicle newspaper published the complete list of Top Workplaces in the area in March. Attracting superlatives of this kind is nothing new for Hammer Packaging, which was a Workplace Dynamics Top Workplace last year as well. In 2013, the company was hailed as “Best of the Best” for its outstanding human relations practices in the “Best Workplace in the Americas” program operated by Printing Industries of America. Hammer Packaging was in the 2014 Rochester Top 100 ranking of the region’s fastest-growing, privately held companies, and it has a long string of print industry awards for production excellence. Workplace Dynamics says that achieving Top Workplace recognition means that the company is one that its employees identify with strongly and believe in deeply. The 22-question survey that determines the honorees focuses on what employees think of the company’s alignment with values and ethics; the quality of its execution; and the extent of the connectedness and appreciation that people experience in working for the company. Over a million employees at 6,000 participating companies complete the survey every year, according to Workplace Dynamics. “I am delighted that Hammer Packaging has been recognized as a Top Workplace in Rochester for the second year in a row," said James E. Hammer, president and CEO of Hammer Packaging. Established in 1912, the company operates from a 90,000-sq.-ft. facility adjacent to Rochester Institute of Technology. Its product offerings include labels of most major types as well as specialty packaging.desk accessories online custom printed mailing labels sign printing
